Ashley Taylor currently works for a project management consultancy in Sydney, Australia (PRINCE2® Practitioner Certified). Prior to moving to Sydney in 2012 Ashley spent many years in the UK Police Service where he served as a Specialist Firearms Officer, Intelligence Officer, Response Officer and as an Integrated Offender Manager. Ashley is motivated and passionate about helping others and effecting positive change.

Ashley started his Police Career with the Ministry of Defence Police where he quickly became a qualified Specialist Firearms Officer (SFO) and a member of the Tactical Support Group (TSG). The TSG provided a Counter Terrorist - Dynamic Intervention/Dynamic Entry capability for a number of top secret government establishments in the South of England. During his time with Ministry of Defence Ashley also spent 6 months on detachment with the Joint Forces Force Intelligence Bureau. At the Bureau Ashley sat on the South East England Desk analysing & disseminating Intelligence reports.

After a number of years with the Ministry of Defence Ashley made the move to The Home Office Police Force where he took up the role of Response Officer. Whilst serving as a Response Officer Ashley dealt with a multitude of criminal cases involving a diverse group of offenders and victims, dealing with serious sexual assaults, domestic violence, murder and many other confronting offences. Alongside case management and response tasks, risk assessments and enforcing counter measures were a large part of the role. Through his time on Response it was his caring nature and passion to help others that provided comfort to those effected.

In 2010 Ashley went through a challenging time in his personal life and made the decision to leave the Response Team and took up a specialist role in the form of an Integrated Offender Manager (IOM). As an IOM Ashley managed those repeat offenders who posed serious risk to the community. On taking up the new role Ashley introduced new processes and protocols and refreshed partnerships with outside agencies and other Police departments. It was Ashley’s role to constantly assess the risk and threat posed by his offenders and to provide advice to the Police Management Team. The gathering of Intelligence was a key part of his success as an IOM and something he still takes a great interest in. Alongside those tasks designed to pursue offenders Ashley also assisted the Probation Service to rehabilitate those offenders. There were many success stories and he left with a smile on his face knowing that lives had been changed.

On leaving the Police Ashley travelled through Asia and has since settled in Sydney, Australia. Since his arrival, he has been looking for the right charity to invest his time and efforts in, and has subsequently found this is SISHA International. When not working he enjoys Crossfit, running, the great outdoors and is a keen traveller and foodie.
